Dollhouse Fair

Yesterday I went to a dollshouse fair in Rijswijk.
I bought nice and useful things, like:

Now Griezelsteyn can be lighted.

Always useful to have.

A Nativity scene for in the Religious Shop.
Frames to use in the future.
Easter bunnies for the Easter Roombox.

These are for the Museum of Fairytales.

And all this is for Griezelsteyn.

The dress of this doll was very poorly made (look at the hole in her sleeve...)
but I think that with new clothes she will be a perfect Griezelda.

My friend Margriet was also at the fair and she gave
me this beautiful dragon egg.
It will get a very nice place in Griezelsteyn.

Magic teapot

What a wonderful surprise I found in my mailbox today.

Marieke
made this magic teapot for Griezelsteyn.
I am thrilled with this beautiful present.
Marieke thank you so much!

Mother Goose Museum of Fairy Tales

While I am working on the astronomyroom in G2 I will show you

Mother Goose Museum of Fairy Tales

Mother Goose started her life as
Cinderella's Fairy Godmother.

I bought the house on a vacation in Scotland.
It took me 2 years before I decided what to do with it.

On the outside of the house you see Mother Goose on the balcony,
and 3 fairytales.

The town musicians of Bremen

The Dragon (an Efteling fairy tale)

Guinevere's Bridal Gown

Second batlamp

A few years ago I made a batlamp for the livingroom
in Griezelsteyn 1.

With the light on.

Because the furniture in Dragonda's bedroom is also from the bat-line
I made another batlamp for that room.

Half

In the middle of my room I have an isle with 4 dollshouses.
This weekend we rearranged it and now both Griezelsteyns are standing next to eachother.

It was very clear there was not enough space in the Astronomy room,
so I took out all the furniture in G2, removed the 2 walls
and now the whole attic can be used as the Astronomy room.
Bigger room, bigger dome.

But where are Dragonda's bedroom and Griezelda's Room?
Dragonda's bedroom will be moved to the first floor, so all the bedrooms are on the same level.
For Griezelda's room there isn't any space left.
But...between Griezelsteyn 2 and the Dollshouse standing on the backside of the isle, was a little space just the size of a room.
So my husband build a kind of a cd-rack :-) and now I have Griezelsteyn Half (well it is 1/3, but half sounds better).Griezelda can have her room there and she can also have a flowershop.
And the third room? Well I have to think about that.

Orreries

At the moment I am working on the Astronomy room and the first thing I did was making 'normal' standing orreries.
This one stood in the bedroom in G1, but I replaced it.

Lava lamp

There is a monthly challenge on the Dutch Poppenhuiskladblog.
On the first day of the month you will find a list of materials that you have to use and the challenge is to make something with them.
For this month we had to use a tube and we could add 1-4 materials.

Here are the materials I used:
a tube, liquids, a bedlamp and plastic gears.

And I made a lavalamp for Mistral's Astronomy room.

What rooms are there in Griezelsteyn

It all started with this house.
My friend Marleen gave me her Mulberry Lane,
because she was not able to work on it any more.
She already started with the kitchen,
but I removed it, because I planned to make a hourse for a witch family.
I also removed the front and replaced it by plexiglass.

On the ground floor we have the kitchen and the living room.
On the first floor the bedroom of Mistral and Griezelda
next to the bedroom of Foeksia.
And on the top floor the library, a workroom to make potions etc. and a room to
place all the things they don't need everyday.
It was so much fun working on this house, and I had a lot more ideas, so my husband
build another house.
They stand back to back and I like to pretend that it is one house.
Now that I am working on Griezelsteyn 2 some things from G1 moved.

This is how G2 looks at this moment.
First you have the hall, next to the familyroom.
On the first floor is Fauve's babyroom, but after the adoption of Raven she shares it with him.
in the middle is Flacon's Room.
It was my plan to make a bathroom in the empty room, but as I don't like making bathrooms I pretend it is between G1 and G2 :-).
As Griezelda is so fond of plants I am thinking of making a room full of all kind of spooky plants, kind of a conservatory.
On the topfloor we have a guest-room for Dragonda, Mistrals Astronomy room and Griezelda's room.
